Pegasus Web Technologies, (www.pwebtech.com), a leader in virtual Web hosting, today announced that it is the first Internet Presence Provider (IPP) to host ASP-enabled Web sites on Sun Solaris.

The new service utilizes Chili!Soft's Chili!ASP(TM) for Solaris, the first UNIX-compatible version of the Active Server Pages (ASP) framework. Chili!ASP allows the exclusively Solaris-based Pegasus to capitalize on the rapid growth of the ASP platform, which is now used in more than 25,000 public Web sites.

As an IPP, Pegasus Web Technologies uses Sun Ultra Sparc servers running Solaris to deliver scalability, power and speed to its shared hosting clients. In addition to their new Chili!ASP-based service, Pegasus also supports leading Web site development tools such as Cold Fusion, Front Page, Msql and MySQL on its Sun Solaris Servers to meet customer demand.

Service Availability and Pricing

Pegasus Web Technologies offers its Web site hosting service for a monthly fee of $20. Pegasus will offer its ASP Web site hosting service beginning today at no additional charge to its customers.
