Sunbelt Software Announces Upgrade to Security Vulnerability Scanner; New Version of ``Network Security Inspector'' Enhances Scanning Results and Reporting

CLEARWATER, Fla. -- Sunbelt Software, a leading provider of enterprise system infrastructure software, today announced the release of a new upgrade to Sunbelt Network Security Inspector(TM) (SNSI). The new version 1.6 delivers enhancements to the existing version that offer more informative scan results and additional reporting capabilities. SNSI now supplies high-level scan results that provide short descriptions of each scan for quick reference. The reports have been re-categorized for easier use and administrators now have the ability to easily export reports to multiple formats including pdf, xls, doc, html, xml and DB formats.

About SNSI

SNSI delivers robust commercial-grade vulnerability scanning that detects a broad range of vulnerabilities in Windows platforms and systems running Sun Solaris, HP-UX, Red Hat Linux and Mandrake Linux, SUSE Linux, Cisco routers, and HP printers. It provides suggested remediation actions and offers extensive reports ranging from high-level consolidated management reports to detailed reports used by network administrators.

SNSI features IP-based scanning, port and Windows service scanning, vulnerability searching and new configuration and scanning wizards. Targeted at the SMB market, SNSI is delivered at a fraction of the cost of many other commercial scanners on the market.

Pricing and System Requirements

SNSI is priced per administrator with unlimited machines for a suggested list price of $1,495.

Hardware requirements are a Windows(R) Server(TM) 2003, Windows XP Pro, Windows 2000, or Windows NT(R) 4.0. system running a Pentium 400 MHz processor, 40 MB of free space, a minimum display resolution of 1024 x 768, CD ROM drive or an Internet connection and 256 MB of RAM. For network scans, 512 MB RAM or more is required, depending on the number of machines scanned at one time. Administrator rights are required to scan a target system.

Target systems support: Windows Server 2003, Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP Pro, Windows NT 3.51/4.0, Red Hat(R) Linux(R), Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.1 and later, Red Hat Fedora, Mandrake Linux(TM), SUSE Linux, Sun(TM) Solaris(TM) 2.5.1 and later, HP-UX 10, 11 and later, HP Printers and Cisco(R) Routers.
