Opengate technologies: your partner of choice for 'digital' peace of mind
As part of its new strategy to address data security, messaging and collaboration needs, Opengate Technologies has added four key partners of Sybari Software--resulting in a powerful set of offerings that renders real-time ROI and TCO benefits, anytime, anywhere.
"We have partnered with best-of-breed, award-winning software companies, which are Sophos, Commtouch, IMLogic and Trace Security," says Herbert Molina, president and general manager of Opengate. "This unique combination of solutions offers the highest quality products for data security, messaging and collaboration needs. These companies are also strategic technology partners for Microsoft and IBM."
Opengate, formerly Sybari CALA, provides an ever-growing array of services and products to small and medium-sized businesses, the enterprise market and large public sector organizations in Latin America, Florida and the Caribbean.
"As we continue to expand across the region, our strategy is to attract early adopters, innovators and end users who need products that are platform-independent, meaning that our software operates in Microsoft, IBM, Linux, and Solaris environments," says Molina. "This offers tremendous 'value added' to all types and sizes of customers."
Opengate customers include a long list of blue-chip enterprises, such as Grupo Carso (Condumex, Inbursa, Sanborns), Infonavit, Alimentos Herdez, Banca Invex, Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), Cementos Mexicanos (CEMEX), Comision Nacional de Bancos y Valores de Mexico (CNBV), Americatel, Visa International, Televen, Bermuda Light & Company, Biblioteca Nacional de Caracas, Banco de Mexico, Camara de Comercio de Bogota, El Nuevo Dia, Grupo Scanda, Grupo Qualita, El Palacio de Hierro, Coltejer de Colombia, Cable & Wireless, American School Foundation in Mexico, and many others.
Molina, born in Peru, is a veteran of the IT industry, with more than 20 years of experience in transferring technologies to businesses in the United States and internationally. From 1991 to 1996, he launched Latin American and Caribbean operations for Seagate Technologies. From 1996 to 2001, he set up and implemented the Latin regional operations of McAfee (formerly Network Associates). He was then given the mission to create Sybari Software's South Florida-CALA division in 2001. In the early years of his career, Molina held sales management positions at Unisys, Parker Hannifin and Robert Shaw Controls.
Opengate's offerings include:
* Sybari Software for GroupWare applications.
* Sophos for Antivirus and gateway protection.
* Commtouch for AntiSpam.
* IMLogic for Instant Messaging.
* Trace Security for vulnerability assessments.
"These products can be sold as a bundle with Sybari or separately," Molina adds. "That ensures that customers have the flexibility to purchase what they need, which we believe is a great added value."
Opengate Technologies works with local certified partners of IBM, Microsoft and other top-tier technology companies across the region. "Shortly, we are looking forward to offering best-of-breed Linux security applications," he said.
"We are focused on becoming your partner to reduce data security threats in a proactive, rather than reactive, way," says Molina. "Since change seems to be the only constant, at Opengate Technologies, we strongly believe that network security is not negotiable. It's priceless."
