NetMAX Professional E-Mail Powerpack follows E-Commerce Offering;
Delivers Web Mail Capabilities and Expanded Spam and Virus Filtering
Cybernet Systems Corporation today announced the availability of the next product in its popular, low cost Linux-based NetMAX(TM) software line: the NetMAX Professional E-Mail Powerpack. The NetMAX E-Mail Powerpack delivers enhanced spam and virus filtering and simple web-based e-mail access tailored to the needs of small- to mid-size businesses, schools and non-profits, making it an ideal alternative to more complex e-mail server offerings. With the NetMAX E-Mail Powerpack, users can set up a powerful and rock-solid Linux-based e-mail system in just a few hours.
"NetMAX is one of the leading solutions for creating simple, affordable Internet appliances," noted Chuck Jacobus, Ph.D., CEO of Cybernet Systems. "Our customers include the average computer user and the IT manager with virtually no time who need quick and easy server solutions. They have been asking us for NetMAX product variations for specific applications, and we've responded with enhancements for WiFi access points, an e-commerce package -- and now the new E-Mail Powerpack, which delivers a powerful e-mail server application in just a few hours of installation time."
Following on the heels of the NetMAX E-Commerce Suite Powerpack introduction, the NetMAX E-Mail Powerpack includes SpamBouncer to control the flood of viruses and unwanted e-mail messages at the server level, and SquirrelMail to deliver simple, full-featured web e-mail access. The new Powerpack offers:
-- Easy administration: both SpamBouncer and SquirrelMail are
tightly integrated into the NetMAX package, providing
straightforward control from within the NetMAX interface
-- Blacklist and blackhole filtering: quickly filters e-mail
against global blacklists or realtime-blackhole lists to
identify and screen spam abusers
-- Bulk e-mail filtering: identifies and screens e-mails sent by
known bulk e-mail packages
-- Text filtering: screens e-mail based on words or phrases in
the subject line or text body
-- Virus filtering: checks incoming mail against many common
viruses and identifies virus-like behavior
-- Safe e-mail handling: messages are never automatically
deleted, but are filtered and directed to corresponding "spam"
or "virus" folders for review
-- Easy customization: installation is easy with pre-defined
filtering rules that can be customized at the server level or
even by individual users to screen messages based on specific
requirements
-- Web-based mail access: users can check and send e-mail, access
an integrated address book and download attachments up to 2MB
in size with just a simple web browser
For existing owners of the NetMAX Professional 4.04, the NetMAX E-Mail Powerpack is now available as an add-on for $100. All NetMAX products are available online through the NetMAX store at http://www.netmax.com/order/buystuff.cgi.
About NetMAX Professional 4.04
NetMAX Professional includes proven applications such as the popular Apache web server and Sendmail e-mail server, and the full power of a Linux operating system based on the distribution of Red Hat(R) Linux. It simplifies the setup of a fully functioning web, e-mail and FTP server that is platform agnostic, allowing for shared files and printers between Microsoft(R) Windows(R), Apple(R) Macintosh and Unix clients. In addition to its ability to monitor web and e-mail server access, track network web browsing and to block unwanted e-mail, the NetMAX Professional enables users to host multiple domains on a single IP address -- an important feature for small business owners and other consumers wanting to host more than one web site while keeping their costs as low as possible.
