New resilience VPN/firewall APP delivers great performance - Resilience DX4000 bundled with Check Point Software Technologies' VPN-1/FireWall-1 Next Generation
Resilience Corporation, a provider of Integrated High Availability security solutions and Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ:CHKP) recently set a new industry benchmark in gigabit firewalls with the introduction of the Resilience DX4000 VPN/firewall appliance. The Resilience gigabit security platform features Integrated High Availability. The result of this innovation is a highly available solution capable of over 1.5 gigabits per second of secure firewall throughput, making the DX4000 the price/performance leader in its class.
At half the cost of competing solutions, the Resilience DX4000 is ideal for enterprise and service provider network environments where availability is essential and security must not be compromised. The DX4000 is a single, cost effective appliance housing two integrated hardware modules. This innovative approach eliminates the need to buy, manage and administer two separate servers. The DX4000 comes pre-installed with Check Point's market-leading VPN-1/FireWall-1 Next Generation software. Resilience's purpose-built Integrated High Availability security platform includes a hardened and optimized Linux operating system. This combination offers the most cost effective solution for gigabit firewall performance on the market.
"The DX4000 is the culmination of Resilience's eight years of experience designing and delivering high availability and fault tolerant systems," said Michael Maulick, president and CEO of Resilience Corporation. "The result is an Integrated High Availability security appliance that surpasses the competition on all fronts: price, performance, and ease of use."
"Our government and enterprise customers place a heavy emphasis on firewall and VPN security. The new Resilience DX4000 gives them the speed and affordability they demand in a single, simple-to-use appliance," said Bruce Tucker, president of Patriot Technologies. "When customers hear that it comes standard with Integrated High Availability, they realize that this product addresses all their top concerns."
Delivering over 1.5 Gbps, the Resilience DX4000 has the lowest cost per Mbps of throughput for any VPN/firewall appliance in its class. It comes standard with a 1.4GHz Intel Pentium III CPU and includes an option for dual CPUs. The DX4000 includes four 10/100 Ethernet ports and 3 slots that can be used for either Gigabit Ethernet or additional 10/100 ports. The base model comes standard with eight 10/100 ports. In addition, the DX4000 has 2 internal slots that can be fitted with other feature cards such as a cryptographic accelerator for enhanced VPN performance.
