Western Wireless Corporation Selects TESSCO to Provide a Turn-Key Accessory Program For Cellular Accessories in 249 Retail Locations Nationwide - Company
Western Wireless Corporation has selected TESSCO Technologies Incorporated, a global supplier of products and value-added services to the wireless communications industry, to implement a turn-key accessory marketing program beginning February, 2000. TESSCO's program will provide cellular accessories and in-store merchandising in 176 retail stores and 73 kiosk locations.
Richard Hecht, executive director of marketing and sales distribution at Western Wireless commented, "Beyond TESSCO providing a cost-effective warehouse that meets the needs of Western Wireless, their in-store merchandising program is the strongest that I have seen in the industry. The TESSCO in-store merchandising program allows our in-store sales teams to stay focused on activations, while the accessory merchandising system drives increased sales."
Available now at the 249 Western Wireless locations are Wireless Solutions accessories, as well as original equipment manufacturer (OEM) accessories from Nokia, Motorola, NEC and Audiovox. The countertop, floor and wall displays will feature cellular accessories such as chargers, headsets, cases and batteries. This turn-key accessory system provides Western Wireless with a single-source solution and value-add services such as custom packaging and merchandising systems, consultant services, field training and reporting capabilities that provide regional market analysis.
"Western Wireless is an ideal partner for TESSCO. We can fulfill their virtual warehouse needs with a unique total source program featuring both OEM and aftermarket accessories. The industry is migrating to the 'virtual warehouse': eliminating the need for a costly warehouse by shipping product directly to stores and providing tracking data," stated Sara Noon, vice president of retail programs with TESSCO.
