Peru: CellStar acquires pre-paid cellular service provider - CellStar Corp.'s acquisition of ACC del Peru S.A
CellStar Corp. [CLST] has completed the purchase of ACC del Peru S.A., a provider of pre-paid cellular phone services in Peru with approximately 45,000 prepaid cellular subscribers. ACC also has an exclusive agreement with Telefonica del Peru S.A., the nation's largest cellular service provider, for the distribution of prepaid services throughout Peru through the end of 2000. CellStar has in excess of 100,000 prepaid cellular subscribers in its operations in Peru and Venezuela, where it owns the subscriber and pre-paid cellular systems.
