MONTREAL -- Apex Digital, a manufacturer of DVD players and TVs, has expanded its portable DVD player product line with a range of 5-in., 6.5-in., 7-in., and 8-in. wide and full-sized models.

The Apex PD650 and PD700 feature a 16:9 TFT LCD screen size and the PD500 and PD800 offer a 4:3 TFT LCD screen.

The four higher-end models have progressive scan displays, while the entire portable line will feature MP3 audio file playback, audio CD/CD-R/CD-RW playback, input/output selector switch, zoom, frame-by-frame advance, and a fully featured remote control.

Furthermore, the five models include S-video input/output, composite video input/output, optical digital audio output and stereo audio input/output. All units also include RCA cables and car adaptor.

Pricing ranges from $399 to $799.
