HARDWARE : Digital voice-recorder, MP3 player combined - Olympus America Inc.'s DW-90 - Product Announcement
MELVILLE, N.Y. --- Olympus America Inc.'s has released the DW-90, a digital voice recorder with PC connection.
The DW-90 provides 90 minutes of recording time and connects to the PC through a high-speed USB interface to transfer WAV files to the PC.
The built-in uni-directional/telescoping microphone enables users to point the mike directly towards the voice for a clearer recording without background noise. When the telescoping microphone is activated, sounds from up to 20 feet away can be recorded. The user can then e-mail the recording as a WAV file attachment to others or listen to and save the recording on a PC.
The DW-90 provides three folders for voice file management, capable of storing up to 100 messages per folder. Three recording modes -- high quality, standard play and long play -- allow a choice in the quality and length of recording. An LCD display enables users to check remaining recording time, date and time, voice activation mode, play mode (HQ/SP/LP), as well as battery status. A microphone sensitivity selector and voice activation for hands-free are also included.
The DW-90 comes with a microphone stand, earphone, USB cable, hand strap and Digital Wav Player software and has a suggested retail price of US$129.
