MP3.com Adds Real-Time Voice and Video Calling Services - Company Business and Marketing

MP3.com, Inc., the premier online music service provider (MSP), Monday announced it has entered into a strategic relationship with privately-held visitalk.com(TM), an Internet services company that connects people around the world to share voice, video and information. In addition, MP3.com plans to participate in visitalk.com's upcoming Series E Preferred Stock financing, which is expected to be finalized in the next few weeks, subject to customary closing conditions.

The partnership with visitalk.com will enable MP3.com's artists and consumers to communicate and collaborate online for the first time using real- time voice and video. Free services include point-to-point local and long- distance calling via the use of a Permanent Communications Number (PCN), or Internet phone number. Other services include voice messaging; video conferencing; data collaboration that allows two people to work on a document at one time online; and directory services similar to the white pages of a phone book -- allowing artists to easily locate other artists or other visitalk.com members.

The first phase of the companies' relationship lets visitalk.com's technology enable real-time interaction between MP3.com's more than 40,000 artists and their peers. Artists will have the ability to be entered into the general visitalk.com directory as well as a newly created visitalk.com directory for the MP3.com artist community. The directory, which is the only such Internet phone directory online, lets users look up and contact other users and see instantly who's online. Future functionality of the services is expected to allow artists to talk to their fans and other visitors to the MP3.com site.
