Grassroots activist band, Jonkanooz, is using their music to support the struggle for human rights in Sudan. The world folk band held a T-shirt benefit during Brooklyn's Labor Day West Indian-American Day Parade. Proceeds from their upcoming album, Work the Town, will go to help Sudanese human rights groups. They encourage listeners to pass the music on and spread awareness of the injustices in Sudan.
