AbriaSoft Announces The Release Of The Windows Version Of Abria SQL Development Environment, Which Includes MySQL, Apache, Perl And PHP
AbriaSoft, a Silicon Valley provider of open source solutions, has
successfully ported the Abria SQL Standard product to the Windows
operating system. This product features a comprehensive open source
development environment for the Windows platform. The release
includes the popular MySQL database, Apache, Perl, PHP and
administrative tools. These technologies will operate on Windows NT
and Windows 2000, and are designed to integrate completely into the
Windows platform using InstallShield, the standard Windows
installation technology. Unlike scripted installations,
Installshield-based installation allows effortless upgrades, and
prevents version conflicts.
Afree version of the software is now available for download from the
AbriaSoft website. The MySQL for Windows is also included in the
Abria SQL Standard Suite, which packages the Abria SQL Standard (the
latest version of MySQL, Apache, Perl, PHP and O'Reilly's MySQL book
and AbriaSoft technical support). The Abria SQL Standard Suite is
being offered at an introductory price of $99.
"We believe that this port will help us accomplish one of our main
goals-to bring quality open source development products to commercial
markets such as Microsoft Windows, at affordable prices," said Mark
Gerow, AbriaSoft Project Manager. "More professionals will be able to
use our product now that we have expanded to include the Windows
platform."
